Starter Jewelry for New Piercings
Every piercing at Enigma includes implant-grade titanium starter jewelry. Titanium is hypoallergenic, lightweight, and one of the safest materials for healing tissue. It’s the right choice for a fresh piercing, and it’s what we use across the board.
If you want to start with something other than standard titanium, ask your piercer when you come in. We have options.
Jewelry Upgrades for Healed Piercings
Once your ear piercing, body piercing, or facial piercing is fully healed, you have a lot more options. We carry jewelry in titanium, gold, and specialty materials in a range of styles, from simple and subtle to more statement pieces.
Upgrading jewelry on a healed piercing is also a good time to have a piercer do the changeout. It sounds simple, but getting the sizing right and inserting jewelry without irritating the channel makes a difference, especially on trickier placements like daith, rook, or nostril.

What to Look for in Piercing Jewelry
Not all piercing jewelry is the same. A lot of what you find online or at chain stores uses low-quality metals that irritate skin, cause allergic reactions, or just don’t hold up. Implant-grade materials are a different standard entirely.
The main things that matter for piercing jewelry are the material, the gauge, and the style. Get any of those wrong for your specific piercing and you’ll have problems, especially on a healing piercing. Our piercers can help you figure out exactly what works for your anatomy and your piercing.

All piercings at Enigma start with implant-grade titanium jewelry. It’s hypoallergenic and the right choice for new piercings. The cost is included in your piercing price
Can I upgrade to gold jewelry?
Yes. We carry gold jewelry options for healed piercings. Come in and we’ll show you what’s available and what works for your specific piercing.
Can I bring my own jewelry to get pierced with?
For fresh piercings we recommend starting with our jewelry. Outside jewelry for a new piercing is risky if the material, gauge, or style isn’t right for healing. Once your piercing is healed, you’re welcome to bring in pieces for a changeout.
Do you do jewelry changeouts?
Yes. If you have a healed piercing and want help swapping out jewelry, come in and one of our piercers can take care of it.
What’s the difference between titanium and gold jewelry?
Both are good options for healed piercings. Titanium is lighter, more affordable, and comes in a wide range of colors through anodizing. Gold has a classic look and is a great long-term option for healed piercings. For fresh piercings, implant-grade titanium is the standard recommendation.
